New pathways through the planted pebble circle replace the circular lawn of the original design

Terraced house garden refresh

This garden wasn’t inspiring the love it once did, and we were glad to come on board for a rethink. We loved the existing circular motif in the hard landscaping, and introduced graphic pathways to a clear destination, a pergola for verticality, and lots of new plants, as well as simplifying the details. We also suggested renovating the store room built onto the end of the kitchen for use as an orangery, to extend the garden’s season of use.

We had to lay some paving slabs where there had been decking in certain areas. Thankfully there were enough slabs at the back to cover the area required.

A sculptural heron stands guard over the plants adding focus until the plants mature

The converted shed has become a garden room providing protection from the elements without loosing connection with the garden

The gazebo is planted with roses and clematis which will provide a scented tunnel to access the seating area at the rear of the garden
