We designed the extension and rear garden to this house in Berkshire
The kitchen / family room extension opens up to the new deck. Rooflights bring light right to the back of the kitchen working area.
The garden becomes part of the living space with the deck becoming the living room during the summer. The extension is lit from above by rooflights which make the space feel bright and cheery, even on the darkest winter days.
New flower beds replace a section of lawn at the back of the garden, adding colour and texture.
Paving slabs set into the leaf shaped lawn allow access to the shed and the rear patio area.
The suspended egg chair on the back patio provides a haven from the bustle in the kitchen and is a popular spot to lounge in the sunshine.
The planting will take a bit of time to establish but will provide a sea of colour and texture.
